Red Largo

Based upon the unusual instrumentation of lap steel guitar, bass clarinet through electronics, harmonium and drums, the music and sound of Red Largo was born out of the creation of music for a theatre performance in Berlin during the winter 2022-23. Under the conceptual direction of Sonja Kessner – the writer/director of the theatre play – seasoned musicians Fredrik Kinbom, Andreas Dormann and Chris Farr created a musical language very much their own. During one fruitful session at Berlin’s Candy Bomber Studio, several tracks with a large portion of improvisation were recorded and later developed into the new-born band’s first album Transmitting, which was released in 2024 to critical acclaim and three nominations for the German Record Critics‘ Award.
The band’s second album Hotel Neuf was released on 20 March 2026 – links to both albums (streaming/vinyl LP/download) can be found HERE.

“…a precious gem that shines with its originality and depth.” – Off Topic
“…resembles the droning engine of an alien mothership as it prepares for take-off.” – The Wire
“…a genuinely original sound…” – Visions Magazin
“As long as you are the kind of person who enjoys experimental, thought-provoking, interesting music then you will find this an essential listen” – Louder Than War
Dan Davis of Kin Ship Goods made the cover artwork for both Red Largo albums.
